I received my first "professional" tablet as a birthday gift (Huion 640p) and want to purchase another one (XPen Deco 02) Should I do it? I really value my birthday gifts and it's only been a year since I got my huion and since I'm getting money soon I can't miss the opportunity

What is /ALT/?
If you're looking for a place to post your cartooning then you've found the right general. This is /ic/s 1st and only merged hub where both Eastern and Western stylization can coexist peacefully, hence the double title. However, by community demand and long history, this is favorably an Anime general.
>Rules & Guidelines
(1) Any form of cartooning is welcome; so submit and receive feedback from others. (2) Please resize your images before posting. (3) Share your knowledge and (4) Remember to not be afraid of asking for critique. Most importantly I encourage you to keep discussion at a civil level, but you're more than welcome to share your opinions.
>I came for anime. Why does the image OP say cartoons general?
To distinguish from the anime study thread (janitor supported). Please post your studies there and personal work goes here.

The problem with western design is that it's aimed towards animation and how to keep a consistent production value.
Eastern animation doesn't care about that since they can cheapen the production by changing the characters into moe blobs for uninteresting shots, use CGI stand ins, or long panel shots where nothing happens. These techniques aren't so widely used in western due to the culture of cartoons, where either it's an action shot like most of Spongebob or a talking bodies shot like the Flintstones and can't change the art style unless it's for a dramatic panel with no animation attached.
I think it's more fair to make comparisons to comics and mangas where the culture is more similar in philosophy than animation

So hello everyone, i have recently started to hate my job and im thinking about changing it.
Why not give art a chance ? To be honest it would be fun if i could do my art job properly.

What i wanted to ask is how much i would need to grind everyday, i just drew for like one hour a day for fun, i never actually had to grind anything or force it, if i want to draw i draw if i dont then i dont, but since i want this to be my job i should work harder, but exactly how hard, what kind of routine would be healthy if i have fulltime job can you help me ?
To be honest if i earned 400 euro from art i could survive if i didnt spend much.

Go with black and white painting for now, the colors are corpse-y in a very bad way. Also, either go for a painting or a drawing, this is some frankenstein fusion.

Study paintings you like, or movie stills. Depends on your goals. Movie stills are good for illustration or storyboarding (in this case take a movie, or a scene and draw its storyboard).

Study movie frames.

Movies are packed with information you can study (drapery, anatomy, perspective, composition, storytelling). And the best thing is that if you pick classics you can't go wrong, you can only learn good things, compared to random photos you may find on the internet.
